My 98 CC 4X2 with rear ABS also does this in the morning when there is
moisture on the ground or a lot of dew on the car. When I back out of my
driveway and apply the brakes I do not have this problem. Only when I drive
about 50 feet to my first stop sign does the brake grab suddenly. After
this stop the brakes no longer grab or jerks suddenly. I now just slowly
apply the brake at the first stop to burn off any moisture.

Subject: DML: Brakes grabbing

Each time I start my truck and proceed to drive, when I initially step on
the
brakes they grab and practically throw me through the windshield. They are
hyper sensitive like this for the first 2-3 stops and then they smooth out
and
are fine. I have noticed this mostly in the cold weather.

I have front disc and rear drum brakes. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Greg
