Hi,
Same truck here... 5.2 Auto 3.9 gears. Mine does this cluck also. It seems
to located farther back (rear end). I actually took it in and had Dodge
check into it. They told me that everything was to spec and that the "play"
was mormal.

HMmm well I am wondering that samme thing, My recently rebuilt tranny does
the same thing, Of course I was leaking fluid and am getting it Re
Rebuilt(Free) and having them throw in a Shift Kit for the inconvinece. On
MY Dakota I checked and the F*ckin idiots used Dex3 intead of ATF3, but a
new
one should have the right fluid, I am not sure what to tell ya, try driving
in reverse for about 20 ft, worked one time for me...
