I think Gen 1 refers to the pre-92's (non-magnum engines), Gen 2 refers
to '92 to '96 (body style), and Gen 3 to '97+ (body style + magnum
engines). I don't know if the '00 4.7L would be included when referring
to the Gen 3 because engine and tranny do not have anything in common.
