I still think the R/T's closest competition would be a '92 RC shortbed with
5.2L, 5-spd and 3.9's.

Why a '92?

Engine: The first year for the Magnum, they were rated at 230hp. The next
year they dropped the power to 220hp. Although they bumped it back up to
230hp in '95 or so, the cam profile was different (less off-the-line
torque).

Body: The GenII Daks are several hundred pounds lighter than the GenIII
Daks, plus they have a smaller frontal area (possible advantage toward the
end of the 1/4-mile).

Now, drop a 100 or so pounds off the 4.7L, and it will probably beat the
aforementioned truck, but then it wouldn't be exactly stock.
