I just tried again today to find the limiter, as I posted previously I hit
approx. 115 mph with no cut out, however today, I attempted to better that
mph, And low and behold, at about 116/117 she cut out like a tennis ball was
shoved in the TB!! So there you have it, my Y2K-HEMI (4.7L) is speed limited
at approx. 116 mph, oh well, better than 98, 99 range, hee hee!! I agree,
she was very smooth at high speed, but I wouldn't make a habit out of it!

Subject: DML: Speed limiter dangerous?

Is the speed limiter on our Dakotas in any way harmful to the engine? I
would hope not but hey, anything's possible, thought I'd ask. I managed
to get up to 105MPH today, then backed off because I didn't want to
incur the wrath of the speed limiter and I was starting to run out of
road. But, now I know where I can go to try more speed runs.

I was pretty impressed with how stable the truck was at that speed
though - not a shake or shimmy to be found, except the side mirrors.
Both the cars my parents own got unstable above 75 or so, scaring the
crap outta me.
