Hmm. My 5.9 doesnt ping. I've only been a Mopar guy for about 3 months so
these engines are kinda new to me. A hot CC will cause pinging but wont
necessarily reduce emissions. If you're CC is hot because of a lean
condition, NOx will be up, but you're CO/HC will be down. I could see Mopar
leaning them out slightly in order to get some better gas milage and keep
NOx down but your sacrificing some power. If you could set adjust your AF a
little richer, it might help or alleviate the problem, with a little gain in
performance, loss of fuel economy.

I'd suggest a 180 stat, maybe even a 160 if you can get away with it.
Its worth the few bucks, much better than the extra 20 cents a gallon eh?
