Installed Powerbolt lock today

Well, it doesn't LOCK!!! As it is, the bolt coming out of the mechanism
didn't even stop the tailgate handle from functioning, only after I drilled a
hole & installed a screw with a couple of nuts to act as a stop did it work.
The problem is that the bolt only engages the right side of the tailgate
handle, but if you pull on the left side of the handle, the tailgate STILL
OPENS!! I've got too much invested in snaking the wires from back to interior
to remove it, so I'm gonna buy another handle assembly & see if I can modify
it to remove the flex from side to side. I got the Pace 'cause it was cheaper
than the JC Whitney, but I had a JCW in my 96 and it worked fine, so I think
I wasted money trying to save some.
All in all, NOT worth the money or effort, as I still don't know if I can mod
the new handle to make it lock FULLY. My advice: go with the JC Whitney one
for $20 more. Otherwise, have a tailgate that locks only if you try to open
the handle on the right side!
