Thanks, I did that but all I could get was a code 12.
That error code would not light up the Check Engine light.
I am going out agian to see if I can get more info off the "Code readout"

Since it's a '97, you should be able to pull a code out of the computer with
the "Key-ON-Key-OFF" method. Have you tried this yet and checked this site:

Hello,
I have a 1997 CC 5.2 Dakota. It just hit the 36,000 mile mark and today at
36,002 mile the "Check Engine" light came on. I have checked all the fluids
and all is well. I cannot find my manual to verify if this could be just a
"reminder" to get service.
Will some one check there manual and let me know?
