Welcome to this great list!! I have only done minor mods to my soundsystem,
if you want to even call it that. First off, I replaced my factory tape deck
with a Pioneer DEH45DH AM/FM CD Deck, and it work pretty good for my needs.
I also replaced the 5x7 speakers behind the seats with Pioneer 3way 5x7
speakers and I replaced the 5.25" door speakers with Pioneer 2way 6.5"
Speakers. Yes the 6.5" speakers fit without any other mods needed, as the
speaker hole in the door in huge. The aftermarket speakers and CD deck has
made a really nice difference is sounds quality and suits my needs
perfectly. I have added a full aftermarket ignition system also to my Dakota
composing of MSD 6-Offroad Ignition, MSD Universal Wiring Harness, MSD 8.5MM
Super Conductors, Accel Super Coil, Borg Warner Select Brass Cap/Rotor,
Autolite Copper Plugs(.050). The ignition mods really helped out with idle,
acceleration, and gas mileage. As far as the intake is concerned, I just
removed the air restrictor plate at the grill, it just pops off, added a
Amsoil 2Stage Air Filter, and used silicon to seal up all the cold air
intake tubes/connections. Good Luck and I hope you enjoy this list as much
as I have over the years.
