Be very careful about the TracLoc/PowerLoc Units being sold on
ebay Item #244418224.
His statement that this is will fit all Jeeps and Dakotas from 1988 thru
1999
with 8 1/4 axles is incorrect.
While the picture of the units makes it look new, I cannot tell which one
it really is.
The correct part number for a 1988 PowerLoc (Dana) Unit is 3723690
1989 thru 1993 the part number is 4384285
1994 thru 1996 the part number is 52068451
In 1997, both the Dakota and Jeep 8 1/4 axles changed to 29 splines.
There were other changes also, but the spline count is the most important
one.
The TracLoc (Dana) unit for 8 1/4 axles from 1997 thru 2000 is 52098778.
