Yup... If it's a part-time system it is normal to have the driveline bind up
some when turning on dry pavement --that's why it's not recommended to run in
4wd on the street. If it's a full time system their is a differential in the
T-Case that allows the axles to turn at different speeds and therefore makes
turning on dry pavement a non-binding proposition. I've also found that
full-cock turns even off-road can cause some binding... I guess the wheels just
can't slip enough to take the pressure off.

When 4wd is engaged, is it normal for the drivetrain to "clunk" and
"grab" when turning? I get that in my Ram. Also, after I switch from
4hi to 2hi, I will sometimes get a clunk or two out of it after I
travel maybe 50-100 feet down the road.
