Yes, they do that too, by stopping spring wrap up. But at the point where
they are pressing against the spring, they're also lifting the body and using
the weight of the vehicle to press the tires into the pavement, thus
increasing traction. That's why you see the rear suspension separate instead
of squat after they're installed. At least that's how they're intended to
work. They were originally pioneered by Bill Jenkins in the early days of Pro
Stock, and he wasn't using them just to stop wheel hop.
