    What it doesn't tell you is that in 1999, Ford was lying. :-)
I don't know about the 13.9, but that 14.6 was taken right from Ford's
'99 sales literature. Maybe they were trying to keep the insurance rates
as low as possible for as long as possible. :-) I have personally
witnessed a bone stock '99 Lightning right off the dealer's lot run 13.9s
with an inexperienced driver. With a good driver, the Lightning may be
good for 13.8's or even 13.7s, completely stock. If we're comparing the
R/T and the Lightning, there really is no comparison; the Lightning will
pound the R/T silly, and make it look easy.

   Don't get me wrong, I'm not jumping the fence, just stating facts.
I didn't say the Lightning was better, just faster. :-) Apply the
$10,000 price difference to the R/T, and the Lightning doesn't have
a prayer. Stock for stock though, no contest. (DC, are you listening?) ;-)
