It's not really there for you, it's there for the feds. When they test vehicles'
fuel economy
for the CAFE averages, they may be able to squeeze out another fraction of a
MPG. The
EPA's test procedure is really stupid. They wouldn't go for something as simple
as they
do in europe; MPG@ various steady state speeds. For example, if you got a Dak in
France
the window sticker might say "16.5 MPG@55 MPH , 13 MPG @ 80 MPH"*
