NOW you tell me... I picked up my Quad (yes, with 4.7 & AT) tonight and
left half of my 255-65R15's at the first light. Geez...

FWIW, I did a TSB search and found some comments on the V6 w/4sp AT from
a few years back, but nothing on the multi-speed since it is new.

I did badger them into throwing in the 5/75 extended warranty for a third
of list price (as far as I could push them) just in case.

I have a 2000 4.7 with the variable Tranny and it is awesome. Remember not
to stump on the pedal to the floor, this is not necessary for this type of
Tranny. Just press a 1/4 inch down and it will fly. No ping, slips, or
transmission problem, but the MPG sucks when racing it.

I'm a newbie here, so pardon me if this question been done to death:

I'm all set to buy a 2000 Dakota, with the 4.7L and multi-speed AT.
The only thing holding me back right now is some talk I've heard
about recent automatic transmission problems on the Dakota.

Anyone know what years and which transmissions had problems,
or whether the whole thing is blown out of proportion?
