Would a good test of the 180 T-stat being if the truck pings before
it reaches its full running temp.
Accelerate when the engine is only half warmed up. If it still pings then
the 180 would not help.

Also, how many have a K&N filter installed, either panel or the FIPK or
whatever home brew cold air intake? Did the motor ping before or after, or
made no change?
