Just talking retail prices, there is a huge difference in the two. The jl box
comes in about 600+ dollars and the MTX thunderform can be had for about
350ish... (I can get it for 255)

The jl audio as you said is a single 8" W4 subwoofer. it is placed in a hand
laid fiberglass box and it wasn't the only box JL made to test out in the
dakota. I think they hired people to listen to it and the sub was placed in
SEVERAL locations before the one produced was picked. But then you have to
think. "Where else could they have put the sub"

The MTX thunderform comes loaded with 2-10" subs. (t-6000s on the new ones?)
It provides excellent bass. it replaces the whole rear tray and increases
the rear fold down seat's heigh up at the lip making it more comfortable for
your passengers to sit. (KEYWORD there: MORE) considering price and amount
of subs. I'd definantly steer away from the jl-stealthbox and buy the MTX
thunderform. The JL would Sound a little better, but the MTX would be
louder. it just depends if you're a true audiophile or just looking for some
satisfying low end bass.

PS. from my personal experience. ditch the 2-10" mtx subs and buy 2-10" IDQ
subs. they hit EXTREMELY low for 10" subs and are very acoustical. I'd put
my 2-10" IDQ subs up to a panel of judges anyday and I bet I would kill that
JL-stealthbox

<< I was wondering if anyone else on the mailing list had the JL Audio
stealth
box in the dak. I do and i like it. just wondering if anyone else had it. it
only has an 8 in woofer but sounds great. I know that a lot of people have
the thunderform. where does it go? and how many subs does it hold and what
 size
