Ok, I went out today and got: the brush I mentioned previously, the "red
goop" and the washers. I just came inside from working on the battery.
Or, rather, trying to work on it.

I do not seem to own a wrench that will fit the nuts on the lead
clamps. 7/16" seems too small, 1/2" is way too big.

They're metric, aren't they? My parents give me this big bag of tools
for Christmas, and not a metric wrench in the bunch.

I checked the test dot, it's a faint green, not sure how strong it's
supposed to be. There was some moisture on the front half of the top of
the battery that didn't look too healthy - maybe a small leak from under
one of the caps? I didn't touch it with my finger, for obvious
reasons. No real obvious corrosion on the terminals; they weren't shiny
but they don't have a crust like my Toyota's battery did after 5 years
of being neglected completely.
