What type of K&N setup did you do? Open air? RAM air? Or what?

Subject: DML: k&n F.I.P.K. and exhaust question

got the k&n fipk today. installed it this afternoon. idle went for a loop.
blip the throttle and it would barely catch itself from stalling. then
myself and my two roomates went for a drive. the first time the truck
cleared 2200 rpm under full throttle i thought i was going to crap. ungodly
roar from the engine and it took off like a rocket(relatively speaking)
redlined first grabbed second squeeled the tires. this is with three
people,
in a 4x4, on a set of 31 inch tires. my god am i ever impressed. why oh
why
didn't i do this earlier.
now here is my question the only place in my city that i found that sells
high performance parts has headers and exhaust for my truck. the headers
are
edelbrock 2-1/4" y pipe to 3" inch out and the catback is from k&n(they say
it is gibson with k&n badge) 3" side exit. both are of course mandrell
bent.
anyone have any experience with these products. i am searching for any and
all opinions.
thanks in advance
derek
