Actually the 4.7 is as true a hemi as the old 426, 392, 354, and 331 hemis
were. To save width, remember this engine was called the "elephant" as it
was, Chrysler rolled the centerline of the hemisphere up. The allowed the
engine to be a little slimmer and actually fit in 'Cudas and Coronets. 'Ole
ma MOPAR was developing a race version that would have been a true hemi,
with the combustion chamber centered on the cylinder bore. this same thing
is true with any Overhead Cam engine, the configuration forces a
hemisphereical head. In any of the little four cylinder engines it becomes
a true hemi, but in any V engine the combustion chambers are rolled up off
the centerline to save space. Therefore your license is really entirely
accurate in the sense the 4.7 matches what happened with the 426 or yore.
