What about the speed limiter Jason? And what HP net would you gain from the
Ma Mopar unit?

WORTH IT???????

When I was debating on whether to get the Hypertech or Mopar chip Frank gave
me alot of good advice and I still saved his email which I'll paste onto
here. Now I'm just waiting for my Mopar chip to be delivered.

I tend to be partial on this because I work with the individual who does the
programming for Mopar Performance on these. I also have one of the early
Hypertech modules that I used prior to the release of the OBD2 controller.
The technical reasons are as follows. The Hypertech chip is an intercept
module and only fools the factory controller. You can only go so far with
this. The most you can hope for with the Hypertech chip is a couple of
degrees more ignition in the lower RPM ranges and hammer the injectors about
.5% harder. The MP computers modify the ignition map more accurately through
the whole powerband. The software in the MP controller has been changed and
does get more aggressive with the shift points. The RPM limiter has been
raised to 6,000 RPM. The net result in all of this is an increase in fuel
mileage and more power (both HP and torque). Unlike the earlier MP
controllers, the OBD2 controllers (96 through current) can be used for
towing. Its always better to mo!
dify the problems at the source (ignition and fuel maps) then try to fool
the factory. As an added benefit, the MP controllers are CARB & EPA
approved......
