Hi,
A rear truss does two good things for you, it imposes a downward preload
on the tubes to offset coming down on the axle hard and bending the tubes.
It also provides protection especially if a skid plate is integrated when
you decide that that rock in front of you isn't as tall as it really is, and
you rub your differential housing over it. I would much rather rub a skid
plate on the truss.
It's a wonderful thing to have this kinda item made for our trucks by a
company like Conn-Ferr, jeez they have been around since dirt was invented,
and the whole offroad community respects em greatly.
I have some direct first hand with their products, that truss saved my axles
many time, in my younger more daring days, ahh s$$t what a line of crap, I'm
still that way, hehehe.
That and skid plates and boxing the frame in go along way to making a very
stout and rigid frame for offroad. I just hope I have time to get all this
stuff together and get it on, shake it out, in time for Tellico this summer.
regards,
Bob

Why would one want a rear truss? I'm guessing it's a lattice like thing
that runs under the rear axle, and that it's purpose is to protect the
axle if I decide I want to scrape it over things?
