Andy:

FYI, the Dawn will remove your wax. So, it should take care of the egg
but remember your clear coat is now exposed to everything. Hopefully, you
had a good coat of wax on there and it absorbed most of the damage and
prevented the egg from getting through to your paint. Also, don't use a
sponge. The best is one of those wash mitts as it lets the grit float up
into the nap with the soap. In a pinch, use real thick terrycloth, but
rinse often and turn the surface so a fresh one faces the vehicle as
often as possible.

Hope your Dak's ok and you get the bast*rd.
