Sam, do you know the pistons in the 4.7 are forged or not? And the timing
gears-single or double?

I run the Ross pistons, which are sooo much lighter than the stockers. They
are a good deal at around $425 from muscle motors. The only problem is to
get
that price you've gotta go with a 30 over piston. This renders the block of
not much value come a second rebuild. I think custom are $650. The Keith
Blacks are ok. They are hyperuetectic(sp) pistons with a high silicon
content. This makes them very hard. I've heard mixed results with these.
Some
guys say they are too hard and become brittle and shatter under N2O. Hughes
seems to like them though. I know more pistons have come out since I was in
the market so check around. It won't be too hard to find a 10 to 1 since
most
of these pistons are designed for the larger chambered LA motors. On the
small chamb. magnum they just raise the comp ratio.
