Subject: DML: only nice policeman
Well, I got pulled over this morning on my way into work. For
accelerating too fast (snicker)
See, on my way to work, I drive down this one street (McLoughlin, for
any other Portlanders out there) the whole way, then I get on the
freeway to cross the river and exit immediately. On early morning
shifts, when there's not much other traffic, I like to see how fast I
can get it going before I have to shut it down. Guess today I had a
cop right behind me. Oops. He said "You accelerated very quickly.
You got to 65 there." Actually, my speedometer said 72, but I wasn't
going to argue. Especially since the speed limit is 55. He also
said I was inching up on the red light at the bottom of the exit
ramp. I said I guessed I was kind of antsy. He told me to try not
to be so antsy, but HE DIDN'T GIVE ME A TICKET!!! First time I've
ever been pulled over without a ticket.
The only bad part is, I was pulled over right up on top of the ramp
down to the mill parking lot, so of course all my coworkers know I
got pulled over, and they are laughing at me.
