Just got my issue of Car & Driver and it seems Chevy IS going to produce the
SSR. For those that haven't seen it, it's a prowler-esque truck equipped
with a 6.0L (364 ci) 300bhp engine doing 14.5 @ 96mph 1/4mile.
The Saleen S281 gets a supercharger that drops it's 1/4 mile time to 13.8 @
103mph, while the now sold-out-before-it-hit-the-streets Mustand SVT Cobra
R is pulling 13.2 @110mph. (29.0 seconds 0-120mph topping out at 175 mph)
WITHOUT a super/turbo charger on it's 5.4L 385bhp V8.
On the funny side.. the Miata now has a supercharger available that drops
it's 1/4 time by 9 tenths to 15.1 @ 92mph.
Gotta watch out for those Miata's......
