I ordered the parts for my 2/3 drop from Sport Truck Direct (I found in Sport Truck Magazine). It came with 2" spindles for the front, and shackle mounts/hangars for the rear. With this set up in the rear, you can drop 3, 31/2, or 4 inches. I got this with 4 new shocks for about $450.00. As far as using lowering blocks, if you have a V-8 you'll tear the blocks up fairly quick. I went through two sets of one inch blocks in less than a year. I would imagine that a taller block would be stressed even more.
