Yeah, I'm up for this too. Except I hope to put some heavier gauge screen in
there as I already caught some rocks in that big ass radiator! Fortunately no
puncture, but the flattened/dented area is like 1.5-2" around. Not too worried
about bugs and such but rocks definitely suck.

I'm planning on just getting some good window screening from the
hardware store and holding it onto the inside of the grill with
zip-ties.
