No help here, Joe. My 98 5.2 makes rear end noise at 40-50 mph, I took
it in and they couldn't hear it at all, including their "rear-end
specialist" (don't even get me started...) so it still howls away. I'm
hoping for a full-grenade while still in warrantee so I can get it
replaced.

You know what? I have the exact same problem!!!! I've been having it
since I first had the dak and the rear end "broke in" with a really
strong burning smell, lasted about 500 miles. every time i go over 40
(below 50) i get a whining sound and it goes away under 40. I dont hear
it over 50, it kind of phases out. Dealer gave me the runaround the first
time. ITS DRIVING ME CRAZZZY! If you get it taken care of let me know!
