You came to the wrong place if you expect impartiality from these folks! I
have never met a group more crazy about their vehicles than this group is.
The Dakota is an outstanding truck! Consumer Reports is way off base.
There have been a few snags and there ae a few TSB's, just like with every
vehicle, but overall, this is a damn fine horseless carriage!

The Dakota tends to get lousy mileage off the showroom floor, but it
improves drastically with a bit of time. I started with 11mpg and after a
year (10,000 miles) I was betting 17.5 mpg on a 318ci 4x4. It's no Geo Metro
but I didn't expect a truck to get that kind of mileage and be as responsive
as this one is.
I like them so much I am buying another one :-)
