That's a great link, thanks! The one bummer is that they don't compare the
Gibson systems with the rest. I'm trying to decide whether to go with the
Borla cat back versus just getting a Gibson muffler with the stock pipes.

I'd probably go with a Gibson Cat-Back stainless, if they ever bothered to
respond to my questions. Borla says that their new cat-back system for the
00 quad will work with the 4.7 just fine. Borla I heard back via email in
about ten minutes, Gibson hasn't responded in 2 weeks about whether the
system they list works with the quad 4x4. Argh.

The Gibson 788500S muffler looks to me like it would be a simple drop-in
replacement for the stock muffler & I'm getting ready to give a it a whirl.
I'm looking for an increase gas mileage and in HP/torque at a lower rpm with
not much increase in noise. Opinions on doing that versus getting the Borla
system?

Thanks!

Hey! Did anyone notice that the muffler article was from former
DML'er Sean *Fresh Air By Meldrum*. They said the it was taken
from Super Ferd magazine. Wonder what he's driving these days?

A dramatic increase in back pressure..hmm?..I had this on my
97 V6 5 speed and liked it even with the very slight popping
on deceleration. The one thing I didn't like was a slight
resonance in the 40 mph range which turned out to be my cat heat
shield trying to sing along with the FlowMaster. I cured that with
a crimp in the shield. Some resonators added to the tip really
helped this setup. I have the same configuration on my V8 with
the 3" single Flowmaster 2 chamber.
