That's good advice, and my experience too. If you can stay calm and
lighthearted (not easy to do!! I wanted nothing more than to choke the life
out of them!), you can work your way up until you find someone with a shred
of common sense. I'll bet you end up with that R/T yet.

Good luck!

Preacher,

I've been here and you can get them to pay. Just explain to them that you
have
not made a medical claim yet and that the truck is not safe. Reassure to
them
that since the law says the vehicle must be as it was before and you will
bring
it back if there is even a slight rattle further eating up thier time. Also,
make them realize that the rental car costs that they are going to incur
while
they are repairing your dak is going to end up costsing way more than the
$580
difference that they do not want to pay. You have to make them realize that
fixing the truck is going to cost them a whole lot more money. If you are
having problems with the claims adjuster they have ask to talk to a
supervisor.
If they are using a company that specializes in acting as a claims adjusters
then call the company directly get someone with enogh clout on the phone and
then re-explain everything that has been listed here. DO NOT let them know
you
are getting the vehicle that you really want just that you are already
shopping
for a replacement so you can to and from work and get your life back to
normal.
If possible don't even let them know you have been shopping for one. I went
through this when my wife got into her accident and the other insurance
compnay
was doing the same thing over $350. If you wrok through this and stay calm
and
keep working your way up the chain everything should work out. The last
thing
an insurance company wants to do is incur more costs that they didn't plan
for.
For that difference you shouldn't have a problem getting them to total the
truck. Trust me....been there done that. Hope this helps.
