When I first did a front brake job on my Dak, way back when....I took the
rotors in the be turned. The machine shop said they were slighty warped, but
could be turned and still be within safety specs. So I had them turned and
finished the brake job. Well, I still have the factory rotors now at 120,000
miles. I need to replace the front rotors, as they cannot be turned again
and they are warped again. I am going to just go out and buy a pair of
Bendix rotors for $43 each. I just recently did a rear brake rehash, with
new wheel cylinders($11 each with lifetime warranty), new drums(very nice
and heavy duty Bendix, $45 each), and new shoes(free since I bought lifetime
shoes before). Good Luck, it does happen.
