lately, i know it must be water but where is it coming from, is this a bad
sign? the motor has 150,000 mi on it and runs strong, but burns 10w-30
almost
a quart every 3000 mi with 10W-40 about a 1/4 quart. i'm pulling the plugs
tommorrow to see if they can reveal anything. Last time i changed the oil
the
dipstick was crappy but there was no evidence of crap in the oil, whats
going
on, any info apperciated, also i need a new set of rod and main bearings,
who
do you reccomend (federal/clevite ect?) and why, one more question, what do
you have to disconnect (ign.) to do a compression check without hurting
 something such as coil ect.
 Thanks

well, sounds like a blown head gasket. Did you check your antifreeze, does
it look like there might be oil in there. Also you can check for
"compression" in the radiator. If you leave the top off of the radiator (do
when cold) and rev the engine up, does antifreeze come out of the top. This
means a blown head gasket.
Hope this helps
