I don't recall wether the Yamaha motor was a 6 or an 8 (I think you're
right in saying 6), but when they changed the taurus from the ugly doorstop
body style to the ugly fish bodystyle, the dropped the Yamaha and went with
a pathetic V8. If I remember correctly, it was a lot slower than the
Yamaha in the old SHOs. I got into a little 140mph battle with one of
the older SHOs once. (I guess I ticked him off when I passed him doing
80mph up a steep hill) :-) He couldn't quite hang with my VR-4, but I
was very impressed with that engine nonetheless. I didn't realize it
was a SHO when I went by until he passed me right away doing 120 or so. :-)
