I never saw the offical announcement of HP ratings for smog states so here
it is. I found some stickers at the local dodge dealer (while I was getting
new rotors on my 2000 Dak) that stated:
The 235 horsepower rating for the Dodge Dakota next Generation 4.7L Magnum
V8 engine does not apply in the following states: CA, CT, DE, MA, MD, NH,
NJ, NY, RI, PA, VA, VT and the District of Columbia. The 235 horsepower
rating for the Dodge Durango next Generation 4.7L Magnum V8 engine does not
apply in the following state: CA. The correct horsepower for those vehicles
in the respective states listed is 230.
Dealers were suppost to stick these on the brochures. I also found some
stickers that had Quad Cab - Sport truck of the year and Four Wheeler Pick
up truck of the year. To top it off they were giving out free road atlases
with trip maker software and also free Mopar car detailing kits (car wash,
widow wash and vinyl protector).
