Pickup trucks must exit passed the cab. Longer is better assuming your
muffler is at the back, you see the muffler will not hinder as much if
the exhaust has cooled and contracted it will flow thru the maze easier
if the muffler is restrictive at all. If a high performance muffler is
used with less restrictive flow the length is less critical and can be
shorter with less chance of trouble. The size could also be adjusted if
you wanted your muffler under the cab and exhaust to exit before the
rear wheels.
