>>>How much tire pressure should I run for 275/60/R17? <<<

drop em' down to the mid 20's

>>Would taking off in 4x4 work better than 2 wheel drive?<<<

NNNOOOO!!! taking off in 4wd won't help and probably break something.

>>>Would it help to manually shift it from 1, 2, into D or let the
computer decide when to shift? <<<

try it both ways and see which works better. I usually run faster when I
manually shift it

>>>Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I know the max torque hits at a
lower RPM than max HP, so I would think it would be better to shift after
max torque has been achieved? <<

the way it works is: Max torque comes at a lower RPM, then horsepower
comes at a high RPM. Right after your hp peak, it'll stop "pulling" and
you won't accelerate anymore... that's when you shift. The best thing to
do is figure out at wheat RPM is stops pullin', then shift right before
it. That way you get the most pull from each gear, and the best ET's =)
