License plate lamps--melting?

Jim Vaught pointed this out to me the other day. The housings that hold the
license plate lamps appear to have sustained damage from heat. I looked at
his and there was no damage (same year and model R/T). But sure enough, mine
look like the got too hot. Ya'll check out yours and if you have the same
problem let me know. I wonder if this restricted to those with painted
bumpers?
