Dester...
Are you still using the stock valve covers or have you switched to the MP
Performance covers? I thought the performance covers were actually a little
higher then the stock covers? (not sure though)

If so that might give you the extra clearance needed & still retain the
baffles.

The factory baffles can be kept if you "ding" them a little but where the
rockers touch. As for the oil splash in your case Dester, try to spot weld
some baffles back on your valve covers on the places that you're having
problems. You don't want to run with just straight vents...you need the
pressure relief from the PCV at minimum. (PCV = Positive Crankcase
Ventilation).

With 1.7 roller rockers, you'll have to knock out your oil baffles. I am
now
raised with a new delimma since doing so. A LOT of oil is getting into my
PCV valve, and my breather, and it's getting sucked into the engine (via
vacuum lines) and oil just sprays out the pcv valve on hard acceleration..
guess i gotta switch back to regular dino oil. Synthetic is too slippery.
or
what should I do? maybe breathers that aren't hooked to vacuum lines and
one
of those K&N "mini" air breathers for the pcv valve?

<< Yup...the factory ratio is 1.6:1. I personally only installed the 1.6:1
Crower rollers, but the 1.7:1 kit is a direct bolt on without any checking
involved...well, except for the rocker arm adjustment.
