It's been a few months since my last post, I've been busy racing every
weekend!
Every time I go out to the track I have gone a little quicker. Currently, as
of yesterday, my best 1/4 ET is 14.57@ 91.09mph !! with runs of 14.59,
14.60, 14.65, 14.60, and a 14.68 behind that!! Still have the same mods,
K&N filter, homemade air intake tube, slicks, and traction bars. 11,000
miles on the truck, My ultimate goal is 14.40's with no other mods, I
believe it is possible with the 4.7L.
One hint to all of you 4.7L guys, you may already have figured out, the best
shift point for this engine is 5500 rpms, I had been shifting at 5000 and
could only run in the 14.80's but now I shift at 5500 and the truck runs
50's and 60's all day long (on slicks launching at 3100 rpms) I can't count
high enough to tell you all how many Mustang GT's I have spanked at the
strip, they all come buy the truck and start looking for the bottle!! hee
hee , I love it when I tell "No bottle baby here" !!
I'm making plans to be at Chrysler@Carlisle in July, and also run the truck
on Friday night. Hope to see some of you there!
