Gregg,
Typically it takes 2-3(max) weeks for the GenIII throttle bodies. However,
with our GenII throttle bodies, the casting material isnt all the great and
takes lot of time when cleaning and opening up the bores. The casting on the
bores has alot of tiny bubbles within the metal itself, and when the bores
are cleaned up, there are lots of tiny little 'potholes' which need to be
filled/welded and re-bored. Dan, aka Fastman, who actually does the machine
work on the TBs does all these GenII 'by-hand' and it takes a bit longer.
Currently, there are only 4-5 QuickD GenII TBs in the world, so each one is
unique and each one really is custom made for each application; no one GenII
QuickD TB is the same. I would HIGHLY suggest taking pics of your TB(top,
side, front) with either a digital camera or 35MM camera and send them to
Tony if you do indeed want to get a QuickD TB; BEFORE ordering the TB. This
will definately speed things up alot. Otherwise, you can buy a used TB from
a boneyard for under $100(usually way under) and send this TB directly to
Dan/Fastman for the work to be done and send Tony the payment; this will
really really really speed the process up. There was some confusion between
Tony/Dan/myself concering what 'style' I had. Of course, this was not
brought up unitl 2 weeks after I ordered it, so I had to snap some digital
pics and email them to Tony/Dan, just for clarification of the linkage. I
will most definately let you and everyone know how things work out with the
QuickD TB.
