Alright all you SoCal Dakota guys time to grab your helmets and head to the
track....er...the parking lot of the track.

This Sunday May 7th, the Los Angeles Region of the SCCA is holding their
May points race (solo2 autocross) in the parking lot at Hollywood Park.
Gary Pinkley does this regularly and kicks a*s in his V6!

There is a Sport Truck class for us to run in. The courses are about 1
mile long and provide plenty of thrills. The cost for nonmember racers is
$25, spectators are free. You'll probably make three runs. Our truck
class is first out at 9am. You'll have to work chasing pylons for other
classes at approximately 11am. So you'll be out of there a little after
noon. The place opens at 7:30am so you can tech your truck, park, and walk
the course before we run at 9am.

A street vehicle in decent working order is all you need. My wife will be
running her new Intrepid, my buddy will do his MCoupe, and a former student
of mine is renting a V6 Mustang from Budget! Your trucks must not be
lifted. Stock 4x4's maybe too high. The safety rule is that the bottom of
the drivers door may not be more than 17 inches above the ground. My stock
SLT+ was 15.5inches. All you R/T and Hotchkis guys all say my truck looks
like a 4x4 next to yours so you'll be fine. They require a Snell M85 or
higher helmet.

Check out http://www.solo2.com/ for more info (follow events link to May
7th).

You're welcome to ask me questions I'm still a newbie, but I've done it
once and checked it out pretty thoroughly. Let me know if you're going to
come out for it, its pretty high on the adrenaline scale! For $25, you can
take your car to the extreme limits in a safe environment.
