Mike's problem is his lexan back window, not windshield.

Anyhoo, Lexan is a high-performance plastic made by General Electric.
It is quite strong, very impact-resistant (some variations are
bulletproof), can withstand high temperatures (I have a Lexan mug which
I could probably toss in the oven for a few hours, no problem) is used
in many, many applications. If you've ever seen the "smoked" Nalgene
water bottles most hikers carry, that's Lexan (I've beaten the crap out
of mine and it's just scratched). Some soda machines use a very thin
sheet of Lexan for their front fascade.

It's a real nice material, and would be a nice replacement for glass in
cars, if it weren't for one thing: it scratches really, really easy.
