Actually, for the year plus that I had my bug shield on, I was
surprised at the number of bugs that still splattered on my windhsield.
I haven't put that many miles on my Dak since I got it back, so I can't
make a comparison between with or with out.
I will go so far as to say that the bug guard helped against road
debris/rocks. I noticed some marks on the bug guard from such. It
didn't offer complete protection against rocks though as my old hood
had a couple small chips from rocks that missed the shield.
If you're thinking about adding a deflector to your Dak, get a clear
one and paint the back side of it the same color as your Dak. I've seen
that done and it looks pretty sharp!
