JCWhitney sells a bed tie down machanism that mounts along the inside of the
top side rails in the bed. It is a 2 to 3 feet long metal rail with 3 to 4
relocatable rings on it. The rail is clamped to the inside of the side rail
along the top of the bed. I think a pair of these cost under $100. Check

Subject: DML: Bed tie-downs?

Sorry for the repost. I've had no reponse at all to any of my last
three posts. Since I still believe this is a good resource and I know
there are a few out there who carry cargo in their trucks, I thought
I'd try again with this one. All I've seen over the last few days has
been bickering over the 4.7 vs 5.9 Durango...

Hey all-
On my 2000 Club Cab, I've got the two U-shaped brackets in the back
corners of the bed, and the two recessed brackets underneath the rubber
plugs. I'm not terribly happy with the location of these. I'm sure
they'd be ok for say a dirt bike, but I would like something up the
wall a little bit in the front and the back. The ones at the bottom
are nearly impossible to get to when I throw a bunch of gear in the
bed. I see the quad cab has brackets mounted up the wall a bit, which
seemed more useful.

Has anyone put in some extra tie-downs in their bed? Any suggestions
on a nice strong place to mount them? Any suggestions on how to keep
the holes I drill from rusting?
