That would be me. I said Summit had a cam for the 97 v6ers, but I was wrong.
 I almost bought it and when I asked "does it come with hydraulic roller
lifters" their reply was "no, regular hydraulics" well.. how the hell is
that supposed to work?

turns out, those cams are only available up to the 96 dakotas. why? no idea.

PS. when doing a cam, you also have to change the cam bearings. take a bunch
of intake and push stuff to the side and there's a better chance you can
screw something internally up. For the money, safety, and from a performance
stand view, the 1.7 roller rockers don't look too shabby. I remember that
there's someone on the list that is having a special thru a certain company.
That individual just might contact you in the near future.

<< roller rockers... I could be wrong here, but they don't make a cam for
 Magnum 6ers...
 I know SUmmit has told someone that they do, but this is the same Summit
 that told me an 88 dakota doesn't come with fuel injection
