Yup, looks likes an evap. can... To add to this, be careful with those hoses.
If one falls off it will set the MIL off and it doesn't reset when the hose is
re-attached for some reason. That's what happened to me anyway and I had to
make a trip to the dealer just to clear the stupid codes.

Yuppers...it's an Evap Can. Those things have been around since the mid
70's.

My 99 R/T has one located just in front of the fuel tank. It apears to be a
carbon canister used to eliminate fuel vapor being released into the
atmosphere. Those used to be inder the hood on many veichles. I am
reasonably
sure that is what it is.
