Yeah, that AMSOIL is expensive! I made a siphon rig using a hand vacuum pump
and a couple of glass spaghetti jars. If you rigged up the same kinda thing it
would allow you to drain the fluid into a super clean container and then
inspect it for any obvious contaminates (metal shavings, water, etc). Absent
any "fly's in the ointment" I don't see why you couldn't use the gear oil
again.

I need to take the rear diff cover off of my truck to inspect something, and
would possibly like to reuse the diff fluid. Since I just did a diff fluid
change(used Amsoil 75W-90), about 2 months ago, would it be ok to reuse the
diff fluid or should I buy some fresh Amsoil to put back in? I thought if I
could drain it out into a clean container, I might be able to just throw it
back in after the diff cover is bolted back on, or is this a no-no? Thanks,
