Resetting the computer takes no more than 15 seconds.

Disconnect the NEG post, hold the key in the START position for 15 seconds,
reconnect the battery. This bleeds any residual energy out of the system
and has been the industry standard on resetting the computer.

Disconnect the cable from the negative post of the battery and wait
about 15-30 minutes before reconnecting. Some say that you can
bypass the waiting time by turning the ignition key fully
and holding the key there for about 15 sec. while the neg.
cable has been disconnected.
